Linkin Park Discuss Fourth Album

Linkin Park have already wirtten half an album's worth of new material for their next record, the band have revealed.

Although the disc won't be in stores until 2010, the rock band are well underway with progress on the follow-up to their last full-length effort, 2007's 'Minutes To Midnight'.

Co-frontman Mike Shinoda told Billboard: "I feel like we've been writing a lot. I'd say we've got about half the music done, though I shouldn't say halfway because who knows how long the next batch of songs will take."

"But all the material's just kind of coming together, and every week we meet up and assess the situation and for the rest of the week we just go and work on whatever we find exciting."

As for the direction Linkin Park are pushing, Shinoda explains: "It's not going to be 'Hybrid Theory' or 'Minutes to Midnight'. And if we do it right, it'll have a cutting edge sound that defines itself as an individual record separate from anything else that's out there."

Until the 2010 wait fans have to hear the record, Linkin Park have recorded the main theme for the 'Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen' movie, named 'New Divide'.
