Avril Lavigne Malaysia Concert WILL Go Ahead

The cancelled Avril Lavigne concert will go ahead afterall says the Canadian star, after she won the approval of the government.

Earlier this week, it was claimed the show had been scrapped over pressure from a political party protesting the performance, as they deemed her stage show "too sexy" for the Muslim community there.

It was even reported that The Arts, Culture and Heritage Ministry had axed the concert because it was scheduled so near to the country's Independence Day, on 31 August.

However, Avril Lavigne now tells a different story, as she speaks to MTV: "Well, I've actually been approved by the government to play a show. I've already sold 10,000 tickets there, so I will be going to put on a concert for the fans."

"They tend to, you know, sometimes not want Western artists in their country." Lavigne continued. "I respect that, but at the same time, you know, there's people that listen to music there and want to see their idols and stuff, so it's all good."
