David Bowie won't be the subject of a new musical, as initial reports last week claimed.
A spokesperson for the star's publisher says, they have never been contacted regarding the musical and have no intention of licensing the songs for theatrical use.
The hasty media reported that Bowie would be taking the 1976 film 'The Man Who Fell To Earth' to the stage, with the help of director Peter Schaufuss.
The statement from from RZO music says, "We are close to the Walter Tevis Estate and we have and have first hand knowledge that they have not licensed the musical rights to The Man Who Fell To Earth to Schaufuss either."
