Write for us

We're currently looking for a few volunteers to help out with AngryApe...

Electronica Reviewers:

By electronica, we mean more than just owning a few Warp and Aphex Twin records. So if you're a fan of labels like Ai Records, Static Caravan, Modern Love, Morr, Type, Rump Recordings etc, then get in touch (see our requirements below).

Indie Reviewers:

Whether you're a fan of Klaxons, CSS, Forward Russia, Kaiser Chiefs, Bloc Party or you're into post-rock, shoe-gazing, new-wave or punk etc and fancy reviewing these types of bands, then get in touch (see our requirements below).

Live Reviewers:

If you're a regular gig-goer, then we'd be happy to publish your live reviews on AngryApe, regardless of where you are based. We may even be able to get you free gig entry to review your favourite bands (see our requirements below).

Interviewers:

Like interviewing bands? We can either publish any interviews you do or even arrange them for you. Don't worry if you're shy either, as we can also sort out email interviews (see our requirements below).

Interested in writing for us?

It doesn't matter what country you're from - as long as your English writing skills are excellent then we'll consider you. Furthermore, if you want to write about a genre we don't currently cover, let us know and we'll see what we can arrange!

Our authors are volunteers who do it because of their interest in music. Whilst they don't get paid for their work, there are several benefits to writing for us:

* Regularly receive new releases to review. Most of these will be pre-releases, and they're yours to keep. This is currently only available to UK residents due to postage costs.

* Possibly receive tickets for shows in your area.

* Possibly receive free promotional items that you won't find in the shops.

* Get your own author page with a bio and link to your personal website.

* Have your work published in front of a large audience and gain industry recognition.

So, if you want to become one of our writers, here are the guidelines:

1) Write 2 reviews of new or recent album or single releases, that haven't already been covered on this site. Each one should be a minimum of 150 words in length, and should be well-written, including such details as the label, your rating, etc.

2) Tell us a bit about yourself, such as your location, age, what bands you like, etc. Don't forget to include your home address, so that if we accept you we can send you more stuff to review.

Please note: anything you send us mustn't be used elsewhere. If we're going to give you free records, it's only fair that your reviews are just for us.

Once you've done all the above, send us your submission and we'll get back to you when we've looked at it.
