Despite the humble and scruffy-sounding image that is associated with their band name, multi-national newcomers Vagabond (who hail from Uruguay, Denmark and err, Huddersfield) actually make some powerful-sounding pop-rock.
Unlike the soulful nature of last single 'Sweat (Until The Morning)' - which wouldn't have sounded out of place on the new Daniel Merriweather album - second song 'Don't Wanna Run No More' is anthemic indie which should be filed next to The Script, Keane etc in your record collection.
Slickly produced by Girls Aloud collaborators Xenomania, the whole thing screams epic. And with its piano-intro, chiming guitars, acoustic strums, tsunami-sized chorus and the rich vocals of Alex Vargas, it sounds like something from Richard Ashcroft's acclaimed debut solo album 'Alone With Everybody'.
Having supported The Script and James Morrison on tour, it won't be long before Vagabond are selling-out huge venues of their own. Debut album 'You Don't Know The Half Of It' follows on August 17th.
