Ahead of the July issue of their debut album, queens of polka dots and kitsch dances The Pipettes release third single ‘Pull Shapes’.
Taking a turn from seething comments on boys, relationships and disappointing one-night stands, this single concerns itself purely with fun.
Following in the vein of ‘We Are The Pipettes’ this is a no-strings call to the dance floor featuring a building keyboard intro, catchy handclaps and some smooth, swinging rhythms.
As ever, showy vocals are discarded in favour of a shouty girl punk vibe and The Pipettes trademark harmonies are as fun as ever.
This single is a true attention grabber with bags of attitude, making it an essential tune for any retro dance floor. The change in subject matter demonstrates The Pipettes do indeed possess flexibility and promises their debut will be one of the treats of the summer.
