As one of the biggest young stars in America, country-singer Taylor Swift has sold over 4 million albums Stateside, becoming a household name at just 19-years-old.
Having easily cracked her home country, the teen pop sensation now has her eyes set on the UK - but given the current climate of home-grown and overseas electropop / R&B talent that has rushed the charts in recent times; Lady GaGa, The Saturdays, Pussycat Dolls - is there any room for country-tinged pop on these shores at present?
'Love Story', a song that takes its lyrical cue from the greatest love story ever (Romeo & Juliet), is the perfect introduction if Taylor wants to get noticed. The sweet vocals, the addictive melody that grows with each listen, the gentle acoustic guitars - there is little to not enjoy here.
Success on the same scale is unlikely in the UK, but Taylor Swift is sure to do well if songs of this high calibre keep coming our way.
