Try listening to the first 20 seconds of this and not spotting the similarities to the Dr Who theme tune, ace! The thing about the Furries, they always release a short, poppy track as the first single off an album and this is no exception. If only the band, just once, unleashed one of their more experimental pieces into the charts! Nevertheless, at barely 2 minutes long, this is a brilliantly catchy anthem and spot on timing for the festival season. Yet again self produced, this sounds as beefy and slick as any top name producer.
Not many Top 40 acts would have the bottle to sing about a golden retriever dog, but the Furries do and it's hilarious lyrics are genius. Big pounding drums, fuzzy guitars and a Welsh slur, not much has changed since 'Fuzzy Logic' then. What's so surprising is the fact that even after 5 studio albums, the band still have an amazing talent for writing stupidly infectious melodies. Where most bands career dries up by the second album, the Furries still manage to sound brilliantly fresh and unique. As ever, the Pete Fowler penned artwork is superb, what's more, the 7" is a cool picture disc.
