If you've scanned any of the free morning papers on the way to work lately, you may have thought you'd read one thing wrong - but no it's true, that Gallic saucepot Sebastien Tellier is leading the way for the French at this year's Eurovision Song Contest, meaning while us Brits have the sorry entry of Andy Abraham, France will be giving it their all with some future-sex disco, courtesy of 'Devine'.
Taken from the self-explained 'Sexuality' (his most commercial album yet) 'Devine' is super slick electro-pop at its best, not to be taken too seriously. Tacky Bontempi organ drones, a drum machine that sounds like it was picked-up from the local car boot and "bap-she-dap" backing vocals - it's the camped-up sound of the dreamy French pop greats like Air, if they were working with the Bee Gees that is.
It makes for a fun listen - something that should, but probably won't, go down well with the Eurovision crowd.
