Peter Andre - Behind Closed Doors

Peter Andre recently revealed he's put everything he's got into his big pop comeback, which makes it more heartbreaking that his return to the charts isn't the best song you'll hear this month... let alone this year. Keeping true to his promise that he wants to be taken seriously as a recording artist, the reality TV star has ditched the novelty pop you'd instantly associate with the Andre name (there's no sniff of 'Mysterious Girl' or 'Flava' here).

'Behind Closed' Doors' isn't a bad song as such - it's pop-rock, with an ok-ish melody, and lyrics that that hit back at the media ("Don't believe what you read"). But it's the vocals which are a big letdown - so tweaked and altered in the studio, that they sound absolutely nothing like Andre - and this manipulation has also stripped away any true emotion Peter may have displayed.

Andre was right to move on from his horrible past and the softer side of rock has always sold week, but an emotive song that lacks any emotion is not going to convince anyone to take notice.
