Peaches couldn't have chosen a better time to make her return with fifth album 'I Feel Cream'. Having pushed a mix of gritty electronics, punk and disco for the past 9 years, given the current chart fascination with Lady GaGa et al, the original queen of controversy could be lapping up a whole new fanbase with double a-side 'Talk To Me' / 'More'.
Not as shocking as some of her earlier works, the leading 'Talk To Me' could give current high-hopes La Roux a run for their money in the synth-pop stakes. Built upon a low-slung bassline and strutty rock-vixen vocals, it's a million miles away from the techno and the scuzz-synths of 70s electro-punks Suicide, found on flipside 'More' - a song that represents the Peaches we've come to love before.
With less smut on display and more of an emphasis on accessible pop, it may not be long before Peaches is a top 10 name.
