Mr Hudson - White Lies

Endorsed by Kanye West and armed with the mother of all pop hooks, Mr Hudson rose from obscurity to a fully fledged pop star this year thanks to his breakthrough single 'Supernova'.

It's a shame that song - you know the one, the track that annoyingly stuck with you for weeks, was barely off the radio or TV ads shifting ringtones - appears to be some kind of one-off magical piece of pop, as next release 'White Lies' is a lacklustre listen if there ever was one.

Derivative, dull and missing that all-important hook, this is merely album filler and not a worthy single follow-up to a song as amazingly catchy as 'Supernova'. Maybe West's pro-Hudson support was a little premature?
