With her latest album Breakout, teen pop sensation Miley Cyrus announced that she wanted to ditch the TV persona of Hannah Montana and the mass pencil case / lunchbox merchandise it brought with it, to be accepted as a singer in her own right. If making an album jammed full of angsty pop-punk or doing a Hilary Duff after she left Lizzie McGuire behind, is classed as finding your own feet, then she's done a pretty good job of it.
Speaking of the Duffster, it seems Rock Mafia - the guys who have remixed this new 'RockMix' version of 'See You Again' - have been listening to her most recent album 'Dignity' and are pushing Cyrus into the same realms of dance-pop. With a dash of new-wave and punk-lite guitars also chucked in with the catchy chorus, it's like the younger sibling of Avril Lavigne mixed with The Gossip!
If Cyrus keeps on it, there's a possible lengthy career ahead.
