Madonna - Miles Away

With so much media attention bothering Madonna this month over her divorce from husband Guy Ritchie, the singer's latest single 'Miles Away' could go unnoticed. Aptly, the lyrics to this latest 'Hard Candy' track talk about a relationship that works best when the two lovers are apart, and possibly a final stab in the back for the Snatch director, we hear Madge sing: "When I'm gone, you realize that I'm the best thing to happen to you"

Perfectly timed lyrics aside, the music is not what we've come to expect from modern-day Madonna. There are no club beats, no Give It 2 Me dance synths and the explosive bravado of 4 Minutes seems like a distant memory. Madge has again collaborated with Timbaland, who provides a perfect backing for the Queen of Pop's heartfelt vocals - in simple strummed guitar riffs and shuffly R&B beats.

'Miles Away' is probably where Madonna wishes she could be right now from the paparazzi, but with little fanfare being made about the single, she may be avoiding attention in the wrong places. A hit in the making, it's just a shame this won't be shooting towards number 1 anytime soon.
