Now that Feist and Robyn have earnt more than their fair-share of acclaim, magazine inches and naturally, the high sales that come with it, it shouldn't be too long before Swedish popster Lykke Li will be added to the equation. In regards to Robyn, it's inevitable this fellow Scandinavian will be compared to the 'With Every Heartbeat' hit-maker and the fact she too self-releases her material via her own imprint, will only fuel these comparisons further.
'Im Good, I'm Gone' is quirky pop at its finest, galloping across with a persistent piano, drums and bassline that will have the avid toe-tapper going crazy, weird robot backing vocals that dance with handclaps, rattling percussion, xylophones and Li's elf-like whisper. Most unforgettably though, is a weighty chorus that could propel this 21-year-old straight to the top, or at least to the next iPod advert.
For a debut release, in the UK anyway, Li has set the bar extremely high for all her future singles and upcoming album 'Youth Novels'.
