Kasabian - Fire

Third album into their career and Kasabian are still doing their best to emulate the dance-rock grooves of Primal Scream. The quasi-Kraut bassline and drums, combined with Bobby Gillespie-inspired vocals, are the sound of a band who can't get over their obsession for the Scream Team's classic 'XTRMNTR'. Only the Primal's did it so much better, and almost a decade ago.

Kasabian raised the stakes prior to the release of 'West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum', even referring to the record as a soundtrack to an imaginary movie. It's a disappointment then, to hear the band sounding exactly like the same old lad-rock they have released before. 'Fire' is one song you won't be enthusing about.
