Where many X Factor hopefuls have fallen tragically into the 'forgotten' pile (Leon Jackson, Same Difference, Eoghan Quigg - we could go on), last year's runner-up boyband JLS appear to be one of the few acts destined for greatness.
Their debut single is not the cheesy string-heavy ballad or soppy cover version that you'd automatically associate with past stars on the contest. In fact 'Beat Again' is a super-slick dose of R&B, sounding so rich it could easily have come from any top-end US star like Usher or Ne-Yo .
A mix of very now electro-pop synths, contemporary beats and more importantly great vocals, if JLS keep up with this quality of single they'll easily have a long career ahead of them. And with news that the Sugababes have signed a US deal, there's no reason they couldn't enjoy success in the States too.
