Moving on a little from his coffee-shop-soul-pop sound, it looks like James Morrison has turned things up a notch... But don't get too excited, it's a very small notch.
The male equivalent of Nora Jones and Katie Meluar returns with 'You Make It Real', a sweet enough song that should do equally as well in the charts as his previous tracks. But listen carefully, because it could very easily escape your radar.
It's another un-inspiring song for the Starbucks generation, but Morrison seems slightly more polished where his vocals are concerned. There's nothing to dislike about this single, but nothing to particularly like either.
'You Make It Real' won't blow you away, but if you liked James Morrison in the past then this comeback single will give you a taster of what's to come on his second album 'Songs For You, Truths For Me'. And if you weren't a fan before don't worry, you'll forget this song so easily it won't bother you again.
