Girls Aloud - The Loving Kind

For all the glowing praise that came with the latest Girls Aloud album 'Out Of Control' late last year, one song repeatedly stuck out as a big favourite in most reviews - not the number-one conquering hit The Promise - but second single, 'The Loving Kind'.

Co-written by the Pet Shop Boys, it comes of little shock value to discover the fivesome swooning over a layer of dreamy 80s synths and drum machine beats. Crossing the bridge between sexy dancefloor moves and melancholic heartbreak, the band prove there is more to them than the lipgloss-coated anthems or stiletto strut of previous singles, we've become accustomed to.

Who'd have thought, it's one of the most Girls Aloud-sounding singles yet and definitely up there in the band's top 5 best songs.
