The second single from Leeds band Forward Russia is another slice of the group's frazzled post-punk hybrid, which saw them become one of the most hotly tipped acts for 2006.
Twelve launches immediately into an attack of frantic, indecipherable vocals and a punching rhythm section. The drums could have been lifted from a metal track, singer Tom sounds like the a possessed relation to the late Ian Curtis and the spiky guitar riffs will be glued to your head for days.
But what's most satisfying about the track's success, is the urgency and passion it displays, although it was recorded straight from the band's rehearsal room on a bust up tape deck.
This is an exciting song bursting with promise and potential of the band's fruitful future, Twelve could well be the single to shoot the four-piece firmly into the charts.
