Editors - Bullets

Bullets is a reissue of Editors' debut single, the original limited edition of which sold out within hours of going on sale. The band's first album The Back Room, was released last month to much critical acclaim, with comparison aimed mainly at Joy Division and Interpol.

Bullets soon establishes itself as a sure-fire hit single, with a bold onslaught of swirling organs and jagged guitar riffage, before embracing the dancey indie art-rock flavours of We Are Scientists and Franz Ferdinand (whom Editors will be supporting on their forthcoming UK dates). Vocalist Tom Smith may sound like Ian Curtis and on first impression, the band may appear to be fairly melancholic; but the dancey angle gives them an edge over fellow moody rockers and should hopefully shake loose those depressing cobwebs they are labelled with.

A brilliant single from one of 2005's greatest breakthrough artists.
