Unfortunately for Demi Lovato, she has somewhat fallen into the shadow of Disney mega star Miley Cyrus. Unfortunately for Miley Cyrus - this girl can really sing!
Like a little Kelly Clarkson protégé, at just 16-years-old Demi can really belt out her pop-rock tracks. And both vocally and musically, her friend and competitor is left eating Lovato's dust.
Demi co-wrote most of the songs on 'Here We Go Again', but 'Catch Me' was credited only to Lovato herself. It's a nice ballad that kicks off at the end to give it the rocky edge she seems to give preference to.
Having said that, Demi seems to play around with a few styles on her second album. While songs such as the title track and 'Solo' keep loyal to the pop-rock genre, 'Quiet' and 'Got Dynamite' are definitely more focused on the rock aspect.
'Every Time You Lie' takes on a jazzy style, and 'Remember December' is more of a dancey number.
'Here We Go Again' is an album that sounds far beyond Lovato's years. She manages to keep the tempo fun and teeny, throw in a mix of styles to keep you guessing, and still keep it easily accessible to a wider, more mature audience.
Watch your back Cyrus - cos Demi's playing catch up!
