Put yourself in the shoes of Britney Spears. Just what do you do when your last single was the all conquering, loved-by-most Womanizer? A song so suited to the troubled singer that it will sound ideal in clubs, on radio and huge arenas? Well, if you've just released possibly the best album of your career, 'Circus', then you'll have your pick of potential follow-up hits.
Title piece 'Circus' more than proves Spears has "bounced-back" to retake her throne as the princess of pop. Produced by Dr Luke (the studio genius responsible for hits for Katy Perry, Sugababes & Kelly Clarkson) it is not unlike her most recent output we've come to admire, all futuristic juddering R&B beats, claps and stuttering backing vocals. It's part club-pop, it's part synth-sex and not unlike what you'd expect from the Timbaland or Danja camps.
'Circus' is a prime indicator for the rest of the album; a solid collection of spunky, sassy, dance-esque tracks that rank as some of the best from Britney Spears.
