Bloc Party - So Here We Are

It's a very rare thing when a band is able to release one fine single after another, without losing some of the impact or the credibility of their debut and actually live up to the hype that surrounds them.

'So Here We Are' is the latest single to be taken from Bloc Party's soon-to-be album 'Silent Alarm'. A spiralling, repetitive chiming riff acts as the backbone throughout the whole track, before exploding into a crescendo of pounding drums and throbbing bass swamped in 80's new-wave guitars. It's this thoughtful song-writing which is why the band are causing such a frenzy.

Where 'Banquet' and 'She's Hearing Voices' were the indie tunes it's really okay to dance to, 'So Here We Are' is the band exploring a more reflective and melancholic side that is sure to futher yet more mainstream attention. Roll on the album next month!
