Bloc Party - Signs (Armand Van Helden Remix)

Bloc Party have always had a dance element to their music, so it shouldn't come of too much of a shock to discover they've handed over 'Signs' to be re-jigged by club giant Armand Van Helden.

It forms the leading single from the forthcoming 'Intimacy Remixed' album - their last record remixed in its entirety. Wheras the original is one of the most subdued listens to come from Bloc Party (a mellow blend of xylophones, hushed vocals and the Warp back catalogue), Helden rips up the dancefloor with his rework - all grinding synths, bouncy basslines and booming beats.

Just as Banquet introduced the band to fans of dancier music, this refix will appeal to clubbers and indie fans in equal measure.
