Holy shit!
This is it, Be Your Own Pet's rip roaring, don't stop it's never going to be enough debut album entitled... well 'Be Your Own Pet'. Why bother coming up with any other title, this is a band that basically set up, thrash the fuck out of everything in sight and leave you thinking "thank God music is still exciting!".
Opening track 'Thresher's Flail' sets the ball rolling as it punches and kicks its way through just over 2 minutes of power punk bliss, and basically the scene is pretty much set from this point on.
Other highlights being 'Fuuuuun' which is pretty much over in the blink of an eye, but which had me hitting rewind time and time again. 'Girls on TV', 'Love Your Shotgun' and 'Fill My Pill' all stand out with their frantic and somewhat chaotic structure, but hell that's the beauty of this LP.
However it's 'Ouch' which really does it, maybe its because of the line 'When there's no more room in hell the dead will walk the earth'? What with me loving zombie films and all that. Whatever it is, this is music that truly captures the live experience, and leaves you exhausted after each play.
Listen up, Be Your Own Pet's debut is something everyone must own, and they're a dead good band too.
