Just what is going on here? Anyone who has followed Bashy's career until now will know the MC works best rapping over tough grime beats (see his underground mixtapes) or, as his debut album Catch Me If You Can proved, hip-hop.
Why then, has he decided to rhyme over a camp, 80s-themed disco backing - complete with cheap-sounding keyboards and flatter-than-pancake beats - on new single 'Your Wish Is My Command', is the most stupid idea since Vanessa Hudgens decided to buy a camera phone.
The lyrics do little to save the song either, "You'll do what I say... I can start rapping and you will grant wishes, OK well you know where the crib is, why not give me a visit." he spits without a hint of comedy.
Bashy could do with listening to Tinchy Stryder and Dizzee Rascal's latest material for a lesson on how to really break into the mainstream.
