Annie - I Know Ur Girlfriend Hates Me

A semi-egotistical dash of electro-pop; it's great to have Norway's finest popster Annie back in the release game. The title of 'I Know Ur Girlfriend Hates Me' was apparently based on a true story, where a male friend's partner wasn't so keen with the amount of time he was spending with the singer, which paves way for such cat-claw lyrics as "I Know your girlfriend hates me, I see it in her eyes".

Musically, it can be compared to the narrowly missed hit 'Bubblegum', the similarities are uncanny - minimal beats, bubbly synths, the high-pitched whispered vocals - but seeing as that failed to make a sizeable dent in the charts in 2006, we can forgive Annie for giving it another go with Richard X as producer.

The single is great - really fun listening in fact, but surely the Girls Aloud-hugging, potential chart-bugging 'Loco' (well it was produced by Xenomania, so hardly surprising) should have been the first single? At least that way Annie would have returned with a BANG.
