Move over Take That and take a hike Backstreet Boy, New Kids On The Block are back and they mean business!
Ignore the occasional receding hairline, these guys are still hot and they're music has managed to move along with the times.
While other bands are attempting to sound as though they're from the 80's, NKOTB have been there, done that and are making their comeback in style.
Lets face it, grabbing in the likes of Ne-Yo, Pussycat Dolls, Timbaland and Akon will never do any harm to a record, and New Kids obviously knew this when they set out to make their return.
'The Block' is actually suprisingly enjoyable and first track 'Click Click Click' is a good choice of opener. Its cool R&B style breezes you into the rest of the album, although the rap could've happily been left out...
Summertime, while a good single, doesn't do much justice as a representation of the rest of 'The Block'. It almost sounds too cheesy and boybandish on what is otherwise quite a credible modern R&B album.
Like a fine wine, the New Kids have actually improved with age. The acne days have long gone - along with the dodgy hair cuts, and the music of an 80's boyband has thankfully stayed in the past.
