Tokyo Police Club - Graves
[Memphis Industries]

Considering the hyperbole surrounding this Canadian outfit prior to the release of their debut album Elephant Shell, it's weird how little Tokyo Police Club are mentioned lately. 'Graves' is the fourth single from the LP and aims to rectify just that problem.

It is fairly familiar of their other songs (which was one of the few complaints of their debut - they can come across a tad one-dimensional), so expect the fuzz-jangle guitars, buzz bass and the emo-esque vocal twang we've heard on past releases.

But this Ontario four-piece are on to a good thing and they know it - so infectious is their quirky, jerky spike-pop, that they'd be suckers to change the blueprint so early on in their career and besides, they've got years ahead to change direction. For now, this is a fun band that can do wrong to these ears.
