Walking backwards isn't a task we would recommend you try; you could seriously hurt yourself if you were to stumble. But what we can give the thumbs up to without the risk of health and safety jumping down your neck, is the new single from The Futureheads - also named 'Walking Backwards' (see what we did there).

Credit where credit is due, you can always rely on Sunderland's favourite exports to deliver a cracking single and this is no exception. It is everything you could want from the band and more; the familiar-sounding melody, the instant jerky-riffs and a brew of punchy-pop-punk that is as welcome at the indie disco, as it is through your iPod earphones on the tube.

The Futureheads may not be getting the same level of hype their debut brought in, but rest assured the band are still as brilliant as they ever were. This is Not The World is one criminally overlooked album your 2008 collection shouldn't be without.
