Being raised on her family's varied musical collection that ranges from blues to country, to folk and gospel, the soothing sounds of relative newcomer Beth Rowley differ from your usual singer-songwriter.
Educated at the Brighton Institute of Modern Music and having (bizarrely) provided backing vocals for names like Ronan Keating and Enrique Iglesias, as well as penning a song for a Keira Knightley movie, it was never going to be long before the 26-year-old's solo career would take off.
Handpicked from this year's 'Little Dreamer' album, 'Sweet Hours' is a piano-led jazz-ballad, with Rowley's swooning, warm vocals in full effect. It is undeniably timeless soul-pop that is guaranteed to wow newcomers, as much as it will reward her dedicated fanbase.
There's a real depth to Rowley's songwriting that suggests this is far from being a one-off classic.
