Sam Sparro - 21st Century Life
[Island]

In 'Black and Gold', Sam Sparro released one of the biggest hit singles of the year - the seventh best selling song of 2008 so far in fact - and a track so popular, that surely any follow-up would have more than its work cut out to compare.

'21st Century Life' is the unlucky sequel to be plucked from the Australian's debut album and is not without its own huge potential (even if it isnt as good as his last chart-topper). An uplifting merging of funky slap-bass, heavily processed vocals, digital hand claps and a fun club-beat, takes the single somewhere between the camp-disco of Scissor Sisters and the 80s synth loving dance-pop of Calvin Harris.

A high charting is likely, but will this still be getting repeated play two months down the line? Unlikely I'm afraid.
