Si Phili - Sunshine
[Propaganda Records]

Renowned as a fresh feeling hip-hopper who is able to name drop contemporary blingers such as Skinnyman and Life MC as guests on his debut solo album, Si Phili seeks to build upon his fresh image gained through involvement in projects such as Gorillaz.

Teaming up with revered producer Richy Spitz, through 'Sunshine' Phili matches the provocative and strutting vocal pull of Travis McCoy (Gym Class Heroes). This single has been moulded by the pair to embellish the commanding vocal stroll that has a streetwise edge but also credibility.

It is the more urban, thudding-percussion, spasm-driven 'Stand Up' that bears out Phili's caustic lyrical touch. Containing a rallying cry for anti-fashionistas the world over; "I ain't using L'OREAL, but I'm worth it."

It is this gritty, self-sure side that if built upon, could see this street poet making sure that people keep talking about British hip-hop and he could even expand upon its boundaries.
