The Ting Tings - Shut Up And Let Me Go
[Columbia]

It's everywhere, literally everywhere you go - in shops, on TV shows, everytime you switch on the radio, even the guy sitting next to you on the bus is listening to this - there is no escaping The Ting Tings and their inexplainable jump to the top of the charts.

'Shut Up And Let Me Go' is the song you'll associate with a recent iPod advert and shows the Salford duo's funkier side. It is though, exactly why the two-piece have jumped from local "big in small circles" status to global chart champions virtually overnight. There is a slinky 70s disco feel in the wah-ish guitars and drums, mixed with a punky edge and the kind of indie-sass you thought CSS would have delivered on their new 'Left Behind' single.

It's not intelligent indie by a longshot and after the number one single 'That's Not My Name', The Ting Tings are proving that wasn't just a fluke - they've got a whole bag of hits up their sleeves.
