Rihanna - Good Girl Gone Bad: Reloaded
[Mercury]

Rihanna has come a long way since she first released 'Good Girl Gone Bad' last year. She's had number ones all over the world and released five hit singles from her third full-length recording, the most famous being 'Umbrella'.

Re-releasing albums can go one of two ways, you either love them or hate them. When it comes down to it as a fan, you don't have much choice... You can either buy it again for the sake of three extra songs, or miss out on having the completed album in full - but then, if you didn't buy 'Good Girl Gone Bad' first time round however, now is the perfect time!

The three additional tracks on the new package; 'Disturbia', 'Take A Bow', and 'If I Never See Your Face Again' take the number of songs from 13 to 16. Sounds a lot, but when you consider that five have already been released as singles, with more perhaps to come, fans might argue that they could have been held back and used on her next album instead.

'Good Girl Gone Bad' already featured some very famous names as producers, co-writers and guest vocalists. These included Ne-Yo, Stargate, Timbaland, Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake. 'If I Never See Your Face Again' sees Rihanna working with Maroon 5 on a good choice for (another) future single - it's dancey with a sexy beat and Adam Levine's vocals work well with the R&B singer's.

Take A Bow, her latest number one single, is a welcome addition: a more up-beat song than other slower tracks on the album, it's most similar in style to 'Rehab'. Rihanna certainly seems to work best with her more dancier tunes and other than 'Cry', there are no true ballads on the album.

'Cry', which is the saddest, softest track on the CD, shows a refreshingly vulnerable side to the singer. However, the lack of ballads gives it a more fun, vibrant sound than a lot of other R&B albums out there and there will always be a good beat on Rihanna's songs, happy or sad. The final addition to the re-release is 'Disturbia', a Britney-esque tune that although good, doesn't add much to the already pretty perfect record.

Whether you choose to spend your money on 'Good Girl Gone Bad: Reloaded' for the sake of three new tracks is up to you. However, I can see fans choosing against it, especially with two of the new additions already chosen as singles. The standout songs of the album remain the same: Don't Stop The Music and 'Umbrella' in particular. As I mentioned earlier, if you still don't own a copy of Rihanna's top selling album, then now is the chance to buy!
