Foals - Red Socks Pugie
[Transgressive]

Hitting the charts at an impressive number three with recent album 'Antidotes' and provoking comparisons between Lords of the Indieworld, Radiohead, Foals have had a successful and critically acclaimed 2008 so far.

However, there are few traces present in their most recent release 'Red Socks Pugie' of why such praise should be heaped on Foals at this point in their career. With interesting, but uninspiring lyrics about blood rushing through veins, it's hard to find anything here to significantly relate to.

They have the keyboards, the slightly dancy edge, the outlandish beats, the disillusioned vocal, the skinny jeans and the haircuts, but Foals are going wrong somewhere and need more time to find their niche.

'Red Socks Pugie', unfortunately, does not possess that standout factor required to make it endure amongst the barrages of tracks from Foals contemporaries.
