White Williams must be a big New Order fan. No bad thing, obviously, but this great dash of freak-pop is heavily influenced by the 80s electronic-post-punk band; bass advanced to the forefront and paired with chiming guitars akin to 'Dreams' or 'Ceremony' - even the Sumner-favoured melodica makes a cameo.
But it isn't a straight rip at all; as with last single New Violence (a brilliant Kraut-pop twister), this wunderkid has a weird way of reinventing past-gone genres, tweaking them with his own oddball visions and merging them with styles that really shouldn't work. There's the swoosh of crap keyboard fx, that Bolan-esque glam persona found on the aforementioned song and once your ears get a whiff of that melody, you're powerless to resist.
