The Futureheads have to be applauded for "bouncing back"; where many bands who are dropped by their label fade into an empty void of nothingness, the Tyneside quartet are self-releasing their new album 'This Is Not The World', since being given the axe by 679 Recordings. All the better for it too, as the band sound better than ever going off last single The Beginning Of The Twist and now, 'Radio Heart'.
In terms of moving on, no one could accuse the band of living off the back of their acclaimed debut. The angular, urgent nature of their beginning path has been stepped-off during these three minutes, although 'Radio Heart' is still undeniably The Futureheads in essence - jagged Ramones guitars, a pop-punk vocal strut thick with regional accent, a care-free performance and ecstatic delivery. Such a combination can't go wrong.
A slap in the face to all those who slandered the band a one hit wonder, 'Radio Heart' is the perfect description for the song; heavy radio rotation is for certain. What were 679 thinking?
