Cassie first appeared in 2006 with her debut album 'Cassie', but unfortunately her latest single 'Is It You' definitely lacks the same quality as previous tracks such as 'Me And You' and 'Long Way To Go'.
'Is It You' comes from the soundtrack of 'Step Up 2 The Streets', and just like the film it's kind of bland and uneventful. The tune and lyrics are a bit too sickly and soppy - even for a ballad, and it lacks any of the same sexy-fun aspect as her former releases.
The single begins with a piano intro and sounds quite promising, but after the song gets going it starts to sound like so many other songs you'll have heard before. It'll probably appeal to teenage girls but that's about all.
I don't want to be mean to Cassie as previous tracks aren't too bad and this isn't terrible... It's just not worth listening to again either.
