White Williams - New Violence
[Double Six Records]

File next to Dan Deacon, Girl Talk and Excepter; this 23-year-old makes swishing electro noise-pop that rivals any of the aforementioned names in the scene. Already released through Kid 606's Tigerbeat label, 'New Violence' is White Williams' first single for the UK via Domino-offshoot Double Six, falling into a melting pot of Krautrock meets glam-rock and 80s space synth-pop.

A muscular Germanic bassline and Neu! beats pave way for Williams' melodic vocals that drive almost as insistent as the rhythm section itself. His voice is delivered from a head and heart made of pure sugar pop and elsewhere, gliding synths, swirling sound effects and fuzz-guitars dash in and out - but always travelling along that insistant motorik groove, slamming and smashing its way through.

Forget about whetting the appetite, this will have you drooling like an idiot for his forthcoming 'Smoke' album.
