And the award for the "Most Annoying Single of the Year" goes to... The Count & Sinden, featuring Kid Sister with their "club" hit Beeper. Motivated by Fam-Lay & Pharrell's 'Da Beeper Record' - the insipid beeps, mobile phone rings and uninspired beats could have been programmed by a first-year student at the School of Musical Undergraduates - with the aid of a "My First Synthesizer" textbook of course.
Always one to look for a positive, at least there is one aspect to praise from the collaboration - another chance to hear the fresh vocals of Kid Sister, who will be exploding later this year when her first solo album is ready. But for now, not even the Chicago-based 'Queen of Music Blogs' can save the day, in this apparent "ode to garage". A Count & Sinden album is being planned already - bargain bin fodder?
