It appeared to take an eternity from their raw, rhythmic and harmony shoving early days on the road with the likes of The Kills to the release of the bouncy, 80s throwback of debut album that didn’t quite capture the live pounce of The Futureheads.
With this ardent guitar and sturdy percussion blasting single ‘The Beginning Of The Twist’, Barry Hyde and Ross Millard continue to provide a prominent, slightly jarring vocal drive to take them towards the impact and jolt of The Rakes.
The edge that took them to the lofty heights of mainstream critical recognition is still there. This represents a return to their rawer edge and they still ooze oomph and heart.
