Operator Please - You Get What You Want
[Brille]

The novelty value has surely worn-off by now and the fact Operator Please are a bunch of young teenagers making catchy indie-pop can only last so long. We've already put-up with the excruciating pain of debut Just A Song About Ping Pong and the inoffensive sequel Leave It Alone (review link) so how does third single Get What You Want compare?

It isn't as instantly forgettable as Ping Pong, nor as full-bodied as their last effort, but still passable as listenable and pleasing for just a few spins only. It's catchy in parts, it isn't difficult to take-in, but there's something seriously lacking to warrant repeated airplay or listens.

Operator Please are showing here they are as capable as any other indie-pop band around at present, but that is where the problem lies; they are just another band, with nothing to say, nothing of substance to offer and in basic terms; just making music that could come from any contemporary act clogging up precious vinyl space in our record shops. Forgettable.
