The Pigeon Detectives - Take Her Back
[Dance To The Radio]

Take Her Back is another bag of shouty indie-pop from The Pigeon Detectives, that will do little to convince those who are already tired of the band's repetitive sound.

The problem with the single, like every track of theirs to surface so far, is again The Pigeon Detectives stick to the same blueprint; the same annoying loutish vocals, gang-chanted chorus, stomping drums and jangly guitars that sounds like anything, and I mean anything else off their debut album, Wait For Me.

The Pigeon Detectives are incapable of writing something other than an instant pop hit it would appear, and while there is nothing wrong with writing music with the sole mission of being fun (we all need a break for experimental bands now and then), other than a catchy melody, there's nothing that cries out for a second listen.

Take Her Back has its moments, but is unfulfilling to those who like a bit of depth to their music. Sadly, it also proves the theory that once you've heard one Pigeon Detectives single, you've heard them all.
