Splitting from their previous deal with industry giants Island may not be the best choice for a band; afterall they no longer have a large financial backing behind them. But Jackson Analogue are happy to go it alone with a new punk DIY ethos, as for this single, they've started their own I Hear Voices label and self-released the two-tracker.
Apparently the Isle Of Wight five-piece take their influences from Muddy Waters and Lynyrd Skynyrd, through to The Who and Led Zeppelin. Naturally this shows, as Come On is a real blast of bluesy-rock riffage, smoke-grasping vocals and an authentic replica retro recording sound, which adds to the rawness and ballsy sound the band are striving for.
Neither Come On or b-side All Alone (Kill Me) or paticularly original, or modern either, but that's not what Jackson Analogue are about. The group want to make the kind of music they love to listen to themselves, the kind of music you can just let yourself go to and just have a great time in the process.
Track Listing:
