The Boats - Tomorrow Time
[Moteer]

Third album from The Boats is a collection of eleven soft homespun tracks to settle in the subconscious, riding the same organic waves as American Analog Set or Her Space Holiday and sharpened by a scampish juxtaposition of track and trackname, with the gentle cracked acoustics carrying titles such as You're An Idiot and Go to Sleep (Or I'll Put You To Sleep)

Featured on the album are friends Chris Stewart and Elaine Reynolds, who add cushioned, echoing lyrics to The Boats' bouts of electronic loveliness. The album drifts along, a quiet triumph in the midst of an overrun genre, perfect for this time of year when it's cold outside and cosy inside.

The Boats is altogether an encouraging listen, renewing my waning faith in organic electronica, something we all thought had died through overuse. It sounds a lot like a lot of other things, but remains an altogether lovely experience. Tomorrow Time takes time, but is certainly not wasted time.
