What do they put in the water at the Memphis Industries headquarters? These guys have been responsible for some of the best newcomers in recent years and after the success of The Go Team, Field Music and The Pipettes, comes Canadian four-piece Tokyo Police Club.
Over before you know it, Nature Of The Experiment is all bouncing basslines and frantic post-punk, shaking hands with Sonic Youth in the process. The track is one of those perfect indie pop singles; short and sweet, catchy hooks, infectious melody and chorus, all without any hint of taking a weak idea and stretching it further than it can go (a trend that keeps popping up with recent singles).
With the A Lesson In Crime EP to hit the UK next year, just wait and see how Tokyo Police Club will be the name on everybody's lips.
