Four Tet - Pockets

At the end of June, everyone's favourite remix specialist and top notch producer Four Tet becomes the latest musician to release a mix CD as part of the DJ Kicks series.

Besides music from artists such as Madvillan, Animal Collective, Curtis Mayfield and Autechre, Kieran Hebden has also recorded this particular song for the album, which is being put out as a limited single.

Pockets has all the quality traits that has kept Four Tet's music so vibrant over the years, seeing him remain one step ahead of the competition.

Similar to his turbo-charged last album Everything Ecstatic, the new song seems destined for the dancefloor with funky vintage disco synths and kitsch camp-rock keyboards, plus his usual mesmering loops of massive drum breaks and xylophones.

Much like every track Four Tet makes these days, Pockets sounds effortless and like he threw it together in a single day. A great single from an artist who never does any wrong.
