Lifting possibly the best track from their eponymous debut album, the latest single from Aussie rockers The Howling Bells is another slice of broody, melancholic goth-flavoured indie which manages to sound unlike any of their contemporaries.

Blessed Night sounds massive in every part; from the opening knife-like bluesy riff to the grand chorus and swirling vocals of Juanita Stein, the single is as infectious as it is intense.

Led by it's sharp guitars and alluring singing, it's looking promising that the group's first album is going to feature in a lot of end of year Top 10's.
